Publishing an app

Publishing makes your app live at its URL inside your space. Until you publish, the app exists in your workspace but isn’t accessible to anyone else.

Before you publish

You’ll need:

  • A space to publish into. If you haven’t created one yet, see Creating a space.
  • An app with working Rhyme source. You can publish a work-in-progress and update it at any time — publishing isn’t permanent.

Publishing steps

  1. Open your app in the Rhappsody editor.
  2. Select Publish from the app menu.
  3. Choose the space you want to publish to.
  4. Set the app’s visibility (see below).
  5. Confirm — your app is now live.

Once published, the app is immediately available at its URL. Subsequent edits don’t go live until you publish again.

Visibility settings

When you publish, you choose who can access the app:

  • Private — only members of your space can open it
  • Unlisted — anyone with the link can open it, but it won’t appear in the space’s public listing
  • Public — anyone can find and open the app from the space

You can change visibility at any time by publishing again with a different setting.

Updating a published app

Re-publish any time to push changes. The URL stays the same; the new version goes live immediately on publish.

Unpublishing

To take an app offline, unpublish it from the app menu. The app and its source are preserved in your workspace — it’s just no longer accessible at its URL.
